Dr. Amartya Kumar Bhattacharya is a highly accomplished Chairman and Managing Director at MultiSpectra Consultants and MultiSpectra Global. With over 26 years of experience in Civil Engineering consultancy, research, and teaching, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the industry. He is also the Vice President (East) of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) and has previously held the position of Vice-President (East) from 2001 to 2005. Dr. Bhattacharya has an impressive academic background, having completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He also holds an M.Tech. from the same institution, as well as a B.C.E. (Hons.) from Jadavpur University. He has further honed his expertise through a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich and a Certificate Course in Civil Engineering (Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering) from the Asian Institute of Technology. Dr. Bhattacharya is a Chartered Engineer and has numerous professional memberships, including FASCE (USA), FICE (UK), FIE, FACCE(I), FISH, FIWRS, FIPHE, FIAH, and FAE. He specializes in Hydraulics, Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Civil Engineering Project Management. As a Visiting Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, an Honorary Professor of Water Engineering and Management at the Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, and a Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, Howrah, West Bengal, India, Dr. Bhattacharya has supervised several Ph.D. and M.E. Theses and has completed a number of sponsored research and other Civil Engineering projects. Dr. Bhattacharya has numerous publications to his credit in the form of journal and conference papers as well as in the form of monographs in books. He has traveled abroad widely for professional and academic purposes and has been awarded the Hem Prabha - S N Gupta Gold Medal by The Institution of Engineers (India).
